Presentation

Nasya is the fourth Panchakarma procedure. According to Ayurveda, 'the nose is the gateway to the head' (Nasa hi shiraso dwaram). Nasya is the treatment of choice for all disorders above the clavicle.

Types

  • Virechana Nasya: Purifying — powders or strong decoctions
  • Brumhana Nasya: Nourishing — ghee, sesame oil
  • Pratimarsha Nasya: Daily — 1-2 drops of sesame oil

  • Headaches and migraines
  • Facial paralysis
  • Neurological disorders
  • Anosmia
  • Cervical pain
