Cox Flexion-Distraction
Non-invasive chiropractic disc decompression technique using an articulated table that allows flexion, distraction and lateral mobilization movements to treat disc herniation and low back pain without thrust.
Presentation
The Cox Flexion-Distraction technique was developed by James M. Cox, D.C., D.A.C.B.R., from the 1960s, inspired by Alan Stoddard's (British osteopath) work. Cox developed a special table (Cox table) with a caudal section movable in three planes, allowing gentle, repetitive decompression of lumbar intervertebral discs. It is one of the most scientifically documented chiropractic techniques for disc herniation.
