Therapeutic Tuning Forks

Therapeutic tuning forks are precision instruments used in sound therapy to apply targeted vibrations to specific body points. Unlike bowls that create a global sound bath, tuning forks enable punctual work comparable to acupuncture through vibration rather than needles.

Therapeutic Tuning Forks

Principle

A tuning fork produces a pure vibration at a precise frequency. Applied to body points (joints, acupuncture points, bones), the vibration propagates through bones and body fluids. Systematized by Dr John Beaulieu and Donna Carey (Acutonics).

Types

Weighted: stronger, deeper vibrations for direct body application. Unweighted: more audible, lighter vibrations for head/ears/energy field. Common frequencies: 128 Hz (medical), 136.1 Hz (cosmic OM), Solfeggio series (528 Hz most popular), Otto series (low frequencies for bones).

Applications

  • Sonopuncture (acupuncture alternative)
  • Pain relief
  • Joint work
  • Nervous system balancing
  • Integration with other therapies
