The twisted version of extended side angle. In a high lunge, the torso twists and elbow rests against the opposite knee, creating powerful twist leverage.

Instructions

High lunge, twist torso, place outer elbow against front knee. Hands in prayer. Chest opens toward ceiling. 5 breaths per side.

Contraindications

  • Disc herniation
  • Knee injury
  • Pregnancy

Modifications

  • Beginner: back knee down (low lunge), hand on floor.
  • Advanced: upper arm extended diagonally, bind behind back.
