Matrix Reimprinting

Advanced EFT-derived technique developed by Karl Dawson, allowing the practitioner to enter traumatic memories and interact with the past self (ECHO) to rewrite limiting beliefs anchored in the energy field.

Presentation

Matrix Reimprinting is an advanced energy psychology technique developed by Karl Dawson (EFT Master) in collaboration with Sasha Allenby, introduced in their foundational book published in 2010. This method represents a significant evolution beyond standard EFT, moving well past simple emotional desensitization to offer a genuine rewriting of past experiences stored in the individual's energy field.

Matrix Reimprinting draws on the work of cell biologist Dr. Bruce Lipton, author of 'The Biology of Belief' (2005), which demonstrates that our core beliefs — formed from birth to approximately age six — program our biology at the epigenetic level. These beliefs, formed during traumatic or distressing experiences, remain stored not only in conscious memory but in what Dawson calls the 'matrix field' — a reference to physicist Max Planck's matrix field theory and Rupert Sheldrake's morphic field research.

The central and revolutionary concept of Matrix Reimprinting is that of the ECHO (Energy Consciousness Hologram): during a traumatic event, a part of the person's consciousness fragments and literally freezes in time, continuing to exist in the energy field as a frozen hologram. Unlike classic EFT where the practitioner guides the patient to 'watch the movie' of their memory from the outside, Matrix Reimprinting allows the patient to enter the movie, find this ECHO — their past self still trapped in the original distress — and interact with it directly.

Core Principles

Matrix Reimprinting rests on several theoretical and practical pillars that fundamentally distinguish it from standard EFT:

1. The ECHO concept (Energy Consciousness Hologram)
The ECHO is the frozen representation of a past version of the patient at the moment of a trauma or intense distress. This hologram is not merely a metaphor: it is conceived as a living energetic reality that continues to emit distress signals in the matrix field, constantly influencing the person's present.

2. The fundamental distinction from standard EFT
In classic EFT (Movie Technique), the patient observes their traumatic memory from outside, as if watching a film. In Matrix Reimprinting, the patient physically enters the memory, meets their ECHO (their past self), taps on the ECHO's meridian points (not their own), establishes a dialogue, brings resources that the ECHO needed at the time, and actively transforms the scene to create a new positive memory — which is then installed into the matrix field.

3. Bruce Lipton's epigenetic theory
Lipton demonstrates that our cells respond to environmental signals and our conscious and unconscious beliefs. Traumatic beliefs stored in the matrix field keep the body in chronic stress, affecting genetic expression. By changing the memory stored in the field, Matrix Reimprinting aims to modify the underlying cellular programming.

4. Active transformation versus passive desensitization
EFT aims to reduce the emotional intensity of a memory. Matrix Reimprinting goes further: it aims to transform the memory itself by creating a new positive scene that replaces the old one in the energy field.

Technical Sheet

Founders
Karl Dawson (EFT Master) and Sasha Allenby — 2010
Theoretical bases
EFT (Gary Craig), Biology of Belief (Bruce Lipton), morphic field theory (Sheldrake), epigenetics
Key concept
ECHO (Energy Consciousness Hologram) — frozen hologram of past consciousness
Required practice level
Certified EFT practitioner at intermediate level minimum. Matrix Reimprinting requires specific additional training
Session duration
60 to 90 minutes (longer sessions possible for complex trauma)
Format
Individual session in person or teleconsultation
Self-practice
Possible for trained practitioners, not recommended for complex trauma without supervision
Evidence level
Numerous case studies, some controlled pilot studies, limited RCTs — moderate evidence level

Main Indications

  • Childhood trauma: Neglect, emotional or physical abuse, early separations, childhood bereavements
  • Deep limiting beliefs: "I am not worthy of love", "I am in danger", "I must be perfect" — beliefs formed before age 6
  • Repetitive patterns: Repetition of toxic relationships, professional failures, self-sabotaging behaviors
  • Chronic illness linked to traumatic stress: Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, autoimmune diseases
  • Phobias with identifiable origin
  • Complex unresolved grief
  • Chronic anxiety disorders

Session Procedure

The Matrix Reimprinting session follows a structured procedure: identify target memory → project as outside observer → locate ECHO → enter the scene → tap ON the ECHO → establish dialogue → ask what ECHO needs → bring resources → transform the scene → install new positive memory → breathe into cells → re-evaluate SUD.

Variations and Sub-techniques

  • Matrix Birth Reimprinting: Work on perinatal and prenatal memories
  • Matrix Past Life Reimprinting: Extension to memories perceived as past lives
  • Matrix Ancestral Reimprinting: Transgenerational trauma work
  • Matrix Relationship Reimprinting: Repetitive relational patterns
  • Matrix Group Reimprinting: Adaptation for therapeutic groups

Contraindications

  • Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID): Contraindicated except for highly experienced trauma therapists
  • Active psychotic episode
  • Severe depression with suicidal ideation
  • Very recent trauma (less than 3 months)
  • Patient without sufficient psychological safety base
  • Practitioner without specific Matrix Reimprinting certification
